Wholesaler has a stockholding of 40,000 boilers and 800,000 spares around the country
Wolseley UK says it has made ‘significant incremental multi-million-pound investment’ in boilers and parts to help the industry prepare for winter. The development ensures that the business has more than 40,000 boilers and 800,000 spare parts in stock around the country, enabling it to support the peak winter period, which it says may be tougher than usual, given the potential impact of global supply chain challenges.
Wolseley says its strategic stock move is designed to support contractors and installers with increased availability at what is traditionally the busiest and coldest time of the year.
The wholesaler noted that weather analysts are already predicting a particularly cold spell at the end of the year, which is likely to see increased demand for servicing and repairs to existing household boilers.
Richard Harvey, Commercial Director Plumbing & Heating at Wolseley, said: “We’ve taken the decision to make a significant incremental multi- million investment in boiler and parts, ensuring that we have more than 40,000 boilers in stock across our national network. We are reviewing demand from previous years to strategically anticipate where to expect the biggest demands regionally and our focus is providing the industry with options to allow them to service customers as demand inevitably increases.”
Wolseley is headline sponsor of the industry’s biggest awards, the H&V News Awards, aka ‘the H&Vs’
