Morning Preparation
My day as an HVAC technician at ATS Mechanical begins before sunrise. By 6:30 AM, I’m reviewing the day’s service appointments and checking my fully-stocked truck to ensure I have all the essential tools and components needed for the day ahead.
First Call: Residential Service
The morning usually starts with residential calls. Today’s first stop involves a routine maintenance check for a central air conditioning system. These preventive services are crucial for:
• Ensuring optimal system performance
• Identifying potential issues early
• Extending equipment lifespan
• Maintaining energy efficiency
Mid-Day Commercial Project
By lunch, I’m heading to a commercial property to inspect their rooftop units. Commercial HVAC systems require specialized knowledge and attention to detail. This particular job involves:
• Performance testing
• Filter replacement
• Condenser coil cleaning
• Electrical connection inspection
Afternoon Emergency Call
The afternoon brings an urgent service call from a family whose AC stopped working during peak heat. This is where our training really comes into play, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues to restore comfort to our customers’ homes.
End of Day
Before heading back to headquarters, I complete detailed service reports and prepare for tomorrow. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our community stay comfortable, and that’s what makes this career so rewarding.
Remember, regular maintenance is key to preventing unexpected breakdowns and ensuring your HVAC system runs efficiently throughout the year.
